At the track and field grand prix meeting in south China city of Zhaoqing Lu Huihui, who is only 23 years of age, improved the Asian Area javelin record to 65.62m (215′ 3″). This result ranks Lu Huihui 2nd in the 2013 top list.
Li Lingwei and Lu Huihui are both pretty good in javelin. Almost 12 months ago Lu set first the asian record to 64.95m (213′ 1″) in the same event. Later that same year Li Lingwei broke the record and threw 65.11m (213′ 7″). Lu, who became fifth during last year’s Olympic Games in London, put the record back in her name. It is going to be interesting how far these throwers are going to push each other records.
Li, the 2008 IAAF World Junior Championships silver medallist finished second with a best of 60.87m (199′ 8″). Zhang Li took bronze on 59.43m (194′ 11″).
Zhang Jun won the shot put in the men’s field events with 19.43m (63′ 8″).
