We haven’t heard very much from or about Jacko Gill lately. Unlike many of his peers, Jacko has moved into the ice and cold of Sweden to prepare for his season of unknown destinations and off his habit of riding the social media tsunami.
On 20th of April Jacko Gill putted the 6kg (13.2 lb) ball under cover in Sätra, Sweden. His 3rd round 21.43m (70′ 3″) meet best was surrounded by an odd level of consistence from the typically super-charged Kiwi: 21.41m (70′ 2″), 20.94m (68′ 8″), 21.43m (70′ 3″), 19.88m (65′ 2″), 20.55m (67′ 5″), 21.38m (70′ 1″).
Jacko began the season seemly training for Mixed Martial Arts; being injured during rumbles with a dog and a toe board. Likely the reason Gill did not find, or was not looking for, his typical near-record performance. His personal best with the 6kg implement is an ancient 22.31m (73′ 2″) from 5th of December 2011; lagging behind David Storl’s 6kg world best of 22.73m (74′ 6″), from July 2009.
