Olympic silver Ehsan Hadadi is at “war” with the Iranian Athletics Federation and Olympic Committee. “I won´t participate at the World Championships in Moscow,” Hadadi told Õhtuleht.
According to Ehsan Hadadi, both organizations don´t invest “enough” into his career. “I had a coach and masseur for seven years. Now I have nobody. I am very disappointed,” Hadadi told. Hadadi (28) has been in similar situation before.
“When I won silver at Olympics everyone were happy. Now they don´t want to give money,” he told, “I don´t want to represent Iran. I have decided to participate only at the Diamond League.”
Is he really so kind and donates a medal to his rivals?
“Yes, let them get it,” a hot blooded Iranian answers.
These events begun in autumn when Hadadi travelled to United States. Back then, the president of the Iranian Athletics Federation, Afshin Davari told Teheran Times that Ehsan Hadadi will move to United States and will be coached by Wolfgang Smidt, the European Champion from 1978
“When I arrived at States I drove to Florida to visit Wolfgang Smidt,” Hadadi said. “I trained with him couple of times but suddenly IAF announced they won´t support me therefore I don´t have resources to pay Smidt.”
