The meeting in Osterode was once again a one with some great results. First of all the 22-year old German discus thrower Daniel Jasinski improved his personal best from 62,97m which he threw in Wiesbaden in May to 64,37m!
His overall performance during the whole competition was impressive. He started with his new personal best of 64,37m, followed by 63,97m which was also exactly one meter over his previous best. Furthermore he was able to throw two times more over 60m and fouled his 4th and 5th attempt.
He was not the only young discus thrower in this competition. Robert Hartings “little”, actually taller, brother Christoph achieved a great performance as well. He best throw landed at 60,57m which is around 2 meters short on his personal best. But he was consistent with his throws. He threw once more over 60m in the third round (60,36m). Michael Salzer became fourth with 58,36m, David Wrobel 55,48m (4th), Robert Sammler 55,21m (5th).
World Championships shot put silver medaillist Nadine Kleinert won the shot put competition with a great effort of 19,61m. She could have won the shot put competition even with her shortest throw of 18,69m. After two throws over the 18m she was finally able to put the shot put over the 19m in the third round (19,18m). She impoved again with 19,31m in the fourth round and her best and winning throw was the fifth with 19,61m. She rounded up the competition with another 19,35m. Her next competition will be the Diamond League meeting in New York! Christina Schwanitz became second with her best throw of 18,49m, Josephine Terlecki third with 18,25m and Denise Hinrichs became fifth with 17,61m.
The 18-yer old German discus thrower Anna Rüh was once again in a good shape. She finished the competition first place with 59,88m and Heike Koderisch was just short by 2cm (59,86m).
