Belarus’ 2010 European Athletics Championships shot put gold medallist Nadzeya Ostapchuk warmed up for her defence of the world indoor title she also won two years ago with a world-leading heave of 20.70m at the Belarus indoor championships in Mogiljov on Friday.
She also had two other efforts over 20 metres in her series. No one else in the world has yet been over 20 metres indoors this year.
Natalia Mikhnevich, Ostapchuk’s predecessor as European champion outdoors in 2006, produced a season’s best of 19.15m for second place and went to fifth on the 2012 indoor world list.
