World champion David Storl won the shot put meeting at the Saxon Rochlitz on Sunday. The 21-year-old athlete won his hometown event with a new meeting record of 21.02 meters.
He was just 22 centimeters below his personal indoor best of 21,24m. This competition was already the third 21m competition during this winter season. He fouled two times and those were far over 21m again. Candy Bauer became second with his new personal best 20,10m. He threw the qualification standard for the indoor world championship in Turkey.
In the women competition the vice-world champion of 2009 Nadine Kleinert won with 19,33m. This means third place in the updated world ranking list. Christina Schwanitz became second with 18,65m and Josephine Terlecki became third (18,10m).
