Valerie Adams Repeats The Championships Record

Women´s shot put has suffered a lot with poor results and looks like a pale shadow of 80´s.
NZL´s Valerie Adams is the one who tends to prove the opposite. She won the women´s shot put with a new lifetime best of 21.24, even more, her result repeats the Championships record. She co-owns the record with Natalya Lisovskaya who won at the World Championships in Rome, 1987.
Silver medal went to Belarus, Nadeda Ostapt¡uk put 20.05 which gave her a 3cm (!) win over J. Camarena-Williams of United States who got close with 20.02m.
Fourth was China´s Gong Lijao who threw 19.97 which means 2-3-4 places were inside 8cm (!).
