The African Champion Omar El-Ghazaly is struggeling with the left adductor injury which causes pain during his training sessions.
It started to get too severe so El-Ghazaly went to a doctor and who made MRI which detected an inflammation in the left pubic ligament and a bone which need a straightaway treatment. El-Ghazaly who has been struggeling with different kinf of injuries for the past four years is trying to recover now and is not able to throw yet. He is not sure if he can attend at the World Championships in Daegu.
His team who consists of the famous Estonian physiotherapist Siim Altosaar and the legendary discus thrower Aleksander Tammert Junior as a coach, will gather next week to make the decision weather El-Ghazaly will attend at the World Championships or not.
“It´s the fourth year in a row when I get injured after a long and successful off-season preparation. But definitely it doesn´t get me down. It teases me and make me wanna fight more and more for my goals in the sport!” says the World Championships 6th in 2007 and 9th in 2009 El-Ghazaly.
His lifetime best is 66.58m thrown in 2007, this throw is also the Egyptian record. El-Ghazaly´s season´s best stands on 64.79m which was thrown in early May at the Egyptian Club Championships in Cairo.
“I never give up and I never will as long as I am on my feet. And I am sure that after all those injuries and stops it will click at the right time for me to go smoothly up the hill, with the God´s will!” he added.
