Germany´s discus future hope Benedikt Stienen won the qualification with his third round throw of 60.46m. The qualification line was set to 57.20m which was affordable for 5 throwers.
Stienen has a lifetime best of 63.52m, last year his best was 57.08m.
In the B-group Austria´s Lukas Weisshaidinger, who is considered as the successor of Gerhard Mayer, threw 59.09m and was overall second in the qualification rounds.
Swedish hope for these championships Daniel StÃ¥hl did not manage to pass the qualification as he fouled all his attempts.
53.64m was the last throw to make the final.
