New Zealand´s shot put sensation Jacko Gill broke another barrier. Today, at the 2nd day of the World Youth Championships in Lille, he broke his own world youth record with a put of 24.35m! The previous record was 23.86m since last year.
There were no questions today. The silver medalist Tylor Schultz (USA ) was far shorter – he threw 20.35m which means he tossed 4 meters less than Gill! Still it was a new lifetime best for him. Third was Braheme Days (USA ) with his last round personal best 20.14m.
In the qualification round earlier this morning Gill had no difficulties to qualify, in his first attempt he tossed a 5 kilograms of “metal ball” to 20.75m which was also the best effort in the qualifications.
