Halle Werfertage, 21.05.2011 – Germany´s Betty Heidler – the reigning European champion – hammered a massive world record in the women´s hammer throw. With her third round throw 79.42 m she bettered Anita Wlodarczyk´s previous record 78.30 m – which standed since 6 Jun 2010 – by over a meter. Heidler´s previous lifetime best was 77.12 m from 2009. In the men´s hammer Markus Esser (GER) won with 78.50 m, the second was Libor Charfreitag (SVK) with 76.94 m.
Christina Obergföll dominated on the women´s javelin field with 64.53 m, Katharina Molitor was second with 63.58 m.
